Damn that's some pipework in there. Looks more like the plumbing for a swimming pool than a car engine:)

Glad it's all coming together again Christian, I'm back at Snett this weekend racing in the 2CV 24Hr and we've made some updates ....

Image

Sadly not :(

We'll have to make do with this ....

Image

We have had it on the rollers however and we iz kickin out sum seriouz power, rumour has it over 40bhp! just hope my neck can stand it :)

Anyone near Snett come on over, it's a great event. The Dutch team next to us brought their own pub last year ... including pumps and wooden bar AND were kickin out Hendrix at 2am in the morning!

I remember sponsoring this event a few years back. Full size marquee. VIP suite. Massive Sony and Atari endorsement everywhere. Sponsored Mustangs etc etc

It rained all weekend and the marquee fell down. The racing was torture to watch and about four people turned up :) A great way to spend several thousand pounds I thought.

Good luck; must be cheaper to take part than sponsor I reckon!

Haha, I'm def gonna try and get there Malc, I'm trying to get a team together for next year but it's easier said than done. Steve has really fallen from grace (grace being a 700bhp supra) as despite being well up for the 2CV 24hr race, he "may not" be able to come and watch this weekend as he's at a dog show??? The Whifbitz lot require convincing still....

Is there easy access to the pits etc so I can come and say Hi?

Stu - why were you sponsoring the event?

I had a retail business at the time and Atari and Sony convinced me to buy 300 copies of a new game............seemed like a good idea at the time :) Until the retail price was abandoned and release dates were broken which left me with 300 units of a game that I had to pretty much give away (literally) as we got our delivery a week after the national shops and we bought it for

Once your in you can wander about the paddock and garages at will, you'll often see people wander into a garage and chat to the teams and drivers, once of the things that makes the event so much fun, very friendly.

I don't think the Dutch are there again this year but like I said, they brought their own pub last year and were serving free beers to anyone who dropped by, spectators as well as drivers/teams.

We are down to be in garage 18 but things might change, we are car 60 anyway, you should find us.

If you can't make it and want to follow the action there is streamed video (inc in-car) on the web, plus live commentary on the same site and on radio on 87.7FM

http://www.2cvracing.org.uk/24hrlive

Live timing and hourly bulletins on TSL plus I will no doubt be posting updates on facebook.

Phew, what a long and eventful day!!

Had a few shockers but the day was a success. Ryan did his 4D mapping, in N/A then with the boost and has leaned things off massively across the board. It allowed him to really work in the part throttle zone where the GTRs really suffer from richness and the results when driving are tangible, it feels much crisper, cleaner and more responsive throughout the rev range on part throttle so i'm happy with that. Should also use less motion lotion.

We didn't get rid of as much of the black smoke under full throttle as I'd hoped, but htis has been put down to the Injector Dynamics Injectors, apparently they do it on the 35s too. Also lost 4BHP over last time I was there, although it was seriously hot today so could be that.

Got some other job ticked off the mapping list too:

Cold/Hot Start sorted
4 boost settings re-ordered on control knob (L-R rather than R-L)
Launch Control set up (proper mental - foot flat on floor, holds revs and boost level set awaiting a side stepped clutch :o)))))) And it bangs, cracks, pops and flames like a WRC car with anti lag while it does it - which I absolutely love - I've been accused of childishness twice today already.

Also bought a fuel pressure sensor and new lambda sensor that Daz wired straight into the Syvecs once back at his unit. Ryan then Remoted in to the car and set it up for the ECU to monitor these and cut them if needs be. I will also do the Oil pressure. This is all in advance of getting a race Tech (or poss now Syvecs which is out soon) Dash, it makes sense the reading are straigh to the ECU not only for moitoring but also to then feed on to the dash.

Think that's it, here's some pics (and a vid)

Ha!
You childish? Never!! :D

Good news though mate, and nice to have the support of a tuner or two as well. Been reading a bit about injectors and Ryan seems to favour the Asnu ones....or is that just on the R35's?

Haha, my thoughts exactly!

Well as you know I have a lot of faith in both Ryan and Daz, although it doesn't seem to reduce the number of shockers I have, Daz reckons I'm jinxed...

Yes he does and that's why. Apparently the Asnu's have a large number (18 from memory) of holes which helps the fuel atomise against the Injector Dynamics which have 2 big Squirters and can cause the smoke. It's no bad thing but he's recommending the Asnu's for those who dont want the black stuff. It's amazing how quickly everything changes, I only bought my IDs 2 years ago on Ryans recommendation and although thye're still top injectors another firm offers a product that does everything and also takes away their weakness. You gotta love progress...

It was our conversation about billet turbo wheels and his new fuel mix sensor that requires this space to watched.... my interest was, shall we say peaked? and a job has been added to the winter list with Ryans name against it :)
