Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
oh yeah so it does......although some work is required !
Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
I don't think you are a true RX7 owner without tackling something major on your car at least once.

Excuse me Mr Ogle..... I have fitted wiperblades myself.....I have staff to do the messy bits for me

Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
Not much to report, after cleaning, hoovering, waxing both the Polo and the Mini (then only to find it rain and leave dust spots all over them) I had an afternoon set aside to tackle a few jobs on the Rex today, the main one being the dial surrounds I bought from RHDJapan last year.
I was fed up of the dial surrounds basically rotting away since I had got the car......This makes it look good but its really not.

Close up with lots of the silver chrome just not there anymore...

All changed with an order from RHDJapan for some OEM black ones (and only the dial surround) they look much nicer

It then rained so the car had to go back in the garage......with loads of dash bits off. Only needed 30 mins but it wasn't meant to be
Got a few bits for my Exedy clutch but the main thing I need (an auto counterweight)I have to get from Mazda Japan.......time for another order.

Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
I like the dials mate. I have the same issue with the metal surround. Very annoying. Also your momo is really nice with the red stitching.
As for having to put it away when it "rained"....the torrential downpour didn't stop me and Dom from stretching our legs! Where were you?! You'll have to drive it one day! :-P

Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
Nice subtle improvement
Do like that steering wheel as well.

Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
It was because the windows were down and bits of the car plastics were all over the drive !!
Sounds like you guys had fun.
Momo wheel was an upgrade I treated myself to years ago but still looks fresh

Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
Yeah looks really nice. My dished wheel was a bit awkward today. My arms must be getting longer! Might have to change it

Re: Mazda RX7 FD3S (Rex)
No other update apart from I took it out of the garage today to fire it up after about 3 months. It fired up first time of course and had a quick run up the road in it. Nothing like an RX7
A few niggles to sort e.g. fuel level sensor not working and fitting the Exedy twin plate clutch after I can get the required auto counterweight from Japan as Mazda UK can't get it. Will ask my new found Newera friends to see if they can get it and will have a rummage around in the wallet to see if despite there being a wedding and an impending house move I can order a few more body bits for the car. I'm fancying some skirts you see.
