Started dismantling Herbie today, we knew we had blown the head gasket at snetterton but were surprised at what we found:banghead:
1. Mayo in the intercooler pipe to the plenium
2. Water in the wastegate
3. Water in the intercooler
The worst find of all, so far as we have only taken 1 head off, was the one thing that we didn't want to find, damage to the head:mad:

Wonder what we'll find when we get round to taking the other head off:smash:

Tea, did someone mention tea:)
Nope... don't think tea is going to fix it this time:beatdeadhorse5:
This engine was going to be put in storage for a later project but we will have to get these heads inspected to see if they are salvageable and also to find out what happened and what caused the new valve seats to come out.
The other side.

Time to move on
Hope you've enjoyed following this project as much as we have.
