Three great examples of the breed :) The white one is probably my holy grail.....I used to use that car as a benchmark for my R32 v2 which never happened.

Calsonic livery and Bayside might be nice though.......white wheels and cage

The GTR is back together at last :cheers2:

I now have a new custom made front brake set up. I'm still using the same model AP 6 pot calipers but with the heavy duty thick brake plate type discs with 72 cooling vanes (my old discs which are the stock AP offering for R32-R34 were much thinner material and 48 Vane). The new discs are basically the ones used on the R35 kit through to the 458 Challenge cars so should offer much better heat resistance and dissipation than the old ones. AP themselves say these are the best they have (for my application of course). These were custom made as they dont make this type of disc in the "diminutive" 356mm size to fit my car.

AP also custom made new "floating" mounting set up, again using the R35 (and others) floating bobbin style mounts and custom bells to fit the R32. This, says AP, is the best set up for track in terms of dealing with heat and kerb impacts, while the floating bobbin means you don't get the potential stickiness associated with a full floating system.

So I'm over the moon to have had all this made for free and can't wait to try them out. Sorry for rubbish pics but a blackberry/me combo doesn't a good picture make :D

Let's hope i don't manage to break these ones too :driving:

I also have a crap photo of the new 1000lb Nitron springs in their now trademark turquiose despite me ordering "snow" colour, which confusingly is Nitron talk for black!!?

Anyway, annoyingly as mentioned before these are likely to mean another wheel allignment, although Daz pointed out that actually, once the allignment gear is attached, if the fronts are out then it's just a case of windign the spring platforms up or down, rather than full adjustment, so hopefully thats will be cheaper and easier as I only had it done 2 months ago. I dont however want to chew up the MPSCs if it's out

Final news is that the car is being re mapped on 2 september. Ryan from 2 bar has been telling me for ages that his 4D mapping on the Syvecs is streets ahead of what I have so we're doing it. He basically maps the car in N/A then again with boost and apparently it really helps on GTRs in terms of fuel consumption, and also the part throttle richness issues (i still have these although nothing like with the Power FC the car was on when I bought it).

I'm excited about this as Ryan reckons it will use loads less fuel (an issue as I'm doing

That's an awesome deal from AP. Did they respond to say why they thought the original set up had failed?

Thats really good news on the brakes mate..... good to see there are companies who will honour their word.
I hear good things about the Syvecs system and have spoken to Ryan a couple of times about it and it really does sound the dogs danglies.....I know he spent a long long time working with it and getting it developed.
Never met the chap but seemed very genuine..
Look forward to seeing the Monster going again ! Oh and Stopping too ! :-)

Thanks all.

Ben they weren't really sure although did say running kerbs may have helped. Could just have been one of those freak events.

On the fuel side yeah it's a lot, and thats literally track fuel, I have to get there and back to hopefully Ryan can improve that.

John. Yeah I've used Ryan a number of times, he's mapped the GTR twice and developed the Syvecs himself so I trust what he says. The only reason I haven't gone for this new way of mapping the car up before has been time/effort more than anything. But I spoke to Ryan recently as he was going to remote into the car to make a few changes and he mentioned it again so i thought I might as well just do it. My mate daz needs his R32 mapped up so we're going to share roller time etc and blat down together...

few more bits. Finally took a pic of the fire Ext which is mounted nicely behind the footplace in the pax side. Currently have both nozzles in the engine bay, one on the turbans and one on the fuel rail. Once we get round to doing the bracket may try and rig one up inside.

Also decided that after several years the Nismo filters could do with a change. I know they're supposed to be cleanable etc but my experience of this has never been very succesful so decided to bin them and put some K&Ns on the car. Another benefit of this was trying to get them further away from the heat as I was able to chose size/shape etc. So settled on these puppies and some pipe extensions to the Greddy intake kit. Can't imagine it'll make much difference but they're a servicable item so why not... an the Nismo's were slowly wearing their way through the bonnet too...
