Quick update:

Engine went in at the weekend, inlet manifolfd has been built up wit the fuel rails and injectors etc, trimmed the car to fit the FMIC piping.

My DEfi's have arrived, so today I ordered a few last bits:

T-piece sleeve for water temp sender
Revolution de-cat downpipe.
Millers 10w-40 Running in oil
Millers 10w-60 triple esther oil for when it run in.
Samco reducer to fit the BOV to the FMIC piping
Samco vacuum hosing for BOV return and Boost gauge.

Also bought recently:

Oil cooler core
powerflex diff mounts, wishbone bushes and drop links.

Only thing I really need to sort soon is a suitable ECU, once its run in I will want to use it, so thats top priority, if anyone has a nice ECU lying around, then I am your man

So this weekend will hopfully see it all back together enough to try and start it :D :D probably won't be in a road legal state tho seeing as I have to basically replace all the front end of the car back on, fit my gauges etc etc etc etc

But, the end is in site, the car will be back on the Road :D :D :D :D :D

I am going to have to learn how to drive it all again as I haven't driven it since 1st August 2006

Be cool to be able to come to a meet, but seeing as I work away in the week that not a possibility :(

Anyway, will make it to a trackday/sprint soon :D :D :D

I am getting a tad excited

Logan. You have my utmost admiration for putting up with 5 months of automotive abstinence. I have just got mine back since the first of November, and even sneaked in a trackday, it's been awful!!

Back on topic, the project looks to be coming to a fruition. Do you have any other pictures so I can see what you've done or is it all trade secrets

See you soon mate. Onwards and upwards eh :)

Cheers lads

Have to say, its been a hard not being able to drive it, but I think the fact that it has been 30 mins away from my house helps as i haven't had to look at it all the time, sat there with an empty engine bay!

Stu - I haven't got anymore pics at the mo, I keep meaning to take my camera with me at the weekends but always forget, i will defo get some pics this weekend of the final stages of the build.

TBH there is not too much to see as all the good bits are on the inside  , I still will be running the standard turbo for a bit until i decent, save for a new un. I ahve some bigger injectors coming at the end of the month so, as I said before all i need to do is to get a ECU sorted once its run in and then enjoy hopefully!!!

I do have a pic of the engine bay when I bought it, and it looks a sorry state, so i will post a before and after once its complete :D

Thats the plan hopefully Duncan, as long as I can have it mapped by then, waiting to hear back about the new Link G3 unit that has just been released, it looks like a good unit for the money, similar spec to the Autronics and Gems but a tad cheaper (which I like  )

If its all sorted then I will get it booked then once I know its all 100%. It will be awesome to get back driving it properly   Reckon I will have to take it steady for a bit tho, be a bit of a shock going from my daily hack back to the Impreza!!!
