Had an epic day last Thursday. The rex's first track outing at Snetterton 300, and what a first outing!! :D

Everything just came together. The grip and turn in is intense! These cars are pure awesomeness - made my old 200sx look a bit silly!

The track is a bit good too! :love2:

The car hit 93db static which was 1 over but they still let me on, and it was 1 under on the track (102db!).

The car is uncanny. The balance is spot on. You can feel the car pivot from the middle rather than swing about everywhere. The low down grunt of the twins slingshots you out of corners to the point where your exit speed is enough to scare some serious machinery. An F355 Challenge and Porsche 911 (both clearly faster but not driven as hard) were dispatched after 5-6 laps of pressing.

I am a happy man! :D Here are some pics of the day.

Harness in, suspension set to track, and away we go!

Spot the odd one out lol!

A job well done little Mazda :) You exceed my wildest expectations!

Great update Chris although I did get a sense of deja vu ;)

You wont believe it but from the one track day I took mine out on I have a pic of it at the front of the queue with the bonnet up exactly like yours :)

What boost have you got yours set to ? 0.8 or 0.9 ?

As you know from the other side a load of people rush to go single but I really like the twin setup, was sorely tempted with those BNRs the other day.

Yeah lol copy pasta ftw! :b

Im Running 0.8bar at the moment but have 850s ready to go on to the primary rail, then ill crank it to 0.9bar. I love the twins. Perfect for track use - need a vented bonnet though to get rid of the heat.

I met the guy who has those BNR's at Awesomefest. I considered all kinds of crazy loan/overdraft options, but sense got the better of me in the end! 400bhp on sequential twins though. Very, very nice.

Nice update and I'm chuffed to hear that you and the Rex 'gelled' on the day @ Snett :) What's the score with the noise limits? 92dB static limits??

I want my Rex back now.....They truely are a fantastic little car mine used to be quicker round Donny than my mates R33 GTR which had 600+bhp ATW.....you can carry so much corner speed in them due to their superb balance......

One question though ! How come you managed to book a dry sunny day ????

Well done sounds a hoot...

Yeah it was an evening event so 5.30-8pm on track (which was enough for my first run tbh) so the levels were a bit higher. 92 static and 103 drive by.

John - agreed on the corner speed. Epic.

How did you find the intake temps as you removed the aircon rad didnt you ?

That's a big old piece of metal to get in the way of the normal rad.

Yeah binned the whole aircon system which consisted of the huge rad that blocks the main rad and eliminated the aircon compressor which took some drag off the engine. My airpump is long gone too so the engine is just driving the waterpump, alternator and power steering now. Definite increase in throttle response.

As far as temps go, I was seeing 100 water after about 4-5 laps of hard driving which quickly came back down to 85 on a cooldown and about 50-55 airtemp which came back down to about 35 on a cooldown. My map is set to lower the boost at those levels to prevent DET.

Not too bad but im getting a vented bonnet next week to help airflow and get rid of some heat build up.

Nice mate, I know the aircon rad is huge and gonna get rid of mine as we never ever use it (the aircon, not the car :) )

Did you get replacement pulleys and belts for removing the aircon and air pump ?
