I'll also need to check with Gary too, see when he can fit it and you in. I am off tomorrow and Thursday am. Give me a call in the morning.

Going to Garys will be a great idea, I remember a certain Skyline owner who had some problems with the car not starting. He spent ages on the forum looking what it could be and trying different things (good on him !).

In the end he took it to Garys and within about 2 mins Gary had found out what the issue is.

Even if he does fix it, at least you'll know for next time.

The car is on its way to Gary this morning, thanks to more help from Stu. ( I am losing count of the amount if time I must now owe him, working on his project in return)

As the car progresses I want some mapping work done too, and with the receomendations I have had of Gary and his work I am sure it wont be the only time the car visits APT.

I have heard from Stuart that it is now fixed and Gary tracked it down to a dodgy japanese fan bodge (2 electric fans on the radiator which are trigered by the ignition to help airflow at drift angles, so always on) feeding back and messing up the ECU signals.

Great to know it is fixed, but it was a very frustrating experience, especialy knowing that I had planned on re-wiring the fans to take a thermostat switch and dash mounted override this weekend. OH well - i can still do that, but I have the confidence now that the car won't just die again and leave me swearing and confused.

Glad to hear its sorted,

Proper car people are so annoying quick to diagnose what takes the rest of us ages (or eternity in Bens case :D)

Deffo worth getting him to check over the rest of that wiring before you get left stranded again methinks,

J.
I have issues !!! :ack2:....I used to be average, now I reminisce !!!

Last night I rewired up the fog light and bolted the panels back in that Gary had to remove, because half an hour ago I dropped the car off for its first MOT!

Fingers crossed it makes it through.

After a couple more jobs are done I will be booking it back in with Gary @ APT for some mapping and dyno work to check out the calibration, and see how the engine is doing. I am not power hungry but would like to see what it is up to.
