Out of interest Lee did you start from scratch on your AX or was it finished when you built it?
Car was brought built, all i have done is stuck a temperature gauge in, new pads n discs, brake fluid change, oil and filter, plumed in fire extinguisher.all service stuff really oh and now a few arch mods that i hope to test out sun :o .

That's why looking at the projects on here are pushing me towards starting something else took a look at a 325i last nite most of the enjoyment is the preperation so need something to get my teeth into.

You going to ready for sun??

It will be running but wont be any good i dont think as it is still on stock boost and with the stock 1" exhaust! :(

Hopefully this will be a total track animal! There are not many S12's about any more so it is nice to get one running as they should be.

OK bit of an update i suppose.

Have done a fair bit of work on the Silvia lately,

Interior is now fully stripped of everything and i spent 6 hours chipping the interior tar and sound proofing off!! Nasty job i hope to never do again!!
Re routed all the loom onto the roof to keep it out the way of my feet etc, cleaned all the residue of tar off with a wire wheel and painted the interior with silver hammerite!!

Next was more weight reduction!!
Removed and cut away the rear bumper support bar and just about every single thing else that was left on the car that could be binned! I cant find much else to get rid of now and still keep the car road legal!
Image

Next step was to remove the diff so i could get it welded up, not much fun lying on your back with a heavy diff on your chest but there we go, worth it in the end i hope!!

Then got the diff back and re assembled everything back together and now have a nice locked diff!!

Also have replaced lots of the tired old bushes with new nissan ones to try to stiffen the car up a bit more.

top stuff matey 8) just need a nice hydraulic handbrake now  lol

Makes me giggle when i see that diff as i got one of my work mates to spin the crown wheel and he didn't let go in time and wedged his finger between the casing and wheel, lucky he didn't cut it off lol... dippy git

Massive thanks for welding that up Paul, you did a great job.

Hydrualic handbrake is on the list mate, just got to ask Nik about it and see what he says.

Also i forgot to add i have fitted a boost guage and blocked off the stock BOV so can run more than 7PSI of boost now!!!

Have got a S13 turbo and stainless elbow to go on for the next job.
