Unfortunately because I only have 8 days to get it back together and run in it is a case of what I can get in the timescales for the minimum outlay.

got (or on the way) so far:
- new sti crank
- arp race shells
- new rods (picking up crower rods on sunday as replacement pauter rod that I acquired is of a different design to the old ones)
- pistons (slightly second hand mahles but good as one of the old wiseco set was damaged when flailing around)
- rings
- new oil cooler
- various gaskets
- seals
- cosworth timing belt

to get:
- oil pump but everyone seems to be out of stock of the uprated high flow jobbie so may have to improvise

I am panicking but I am reassured it will be back together in time.

There may be some slight improvements too while it is out such as fitting the billet parallel fuel rails and aeroquip hose/unions i have here for it that I didnt get to do last week and maybe a couple of other bits too :D

Great result with a poorly car 8)

Glad it's all going back together and will be ready for the next round. What are you doing to cure the oil pick up problem?

We have made a strengthened item out of a flange from an earlier pickup and the collector from an 06 version. Well, Paul built it in reality :D

This will do the job til the dry sump kit is ready.

Engine in Monday, crikey thats loads of time, this time last year it was Fri pm before the car was running again.
Though running in throughout the night, with no boost to play with was not fun.

As texts, hope to see you at Silverstone.

Hopefully it wont be last minute like that but it still doesnt leave much time.

Spending the day over there cleaning up cylinder heads and re-threading some bolt holes that mysteriously are stripped. Should start putting it all together today.

New rods arrived last night courtesy of Lateral Performance (http://www.lateralperformance.co.uk) - thanks Mark :notworthy:

All the bits are now here to start it.

While it is out I will be sorting out one or two other small upgrades as it is much easier to do with the engine on a stand. Main one is the billet parallel fuel rails and aeroquip lines that need to go on.

Other things on the to-do list will wait til after this round if necessary...

After 2 solid days on cleaning everything up, repairing (time-serting) 14 stripped threads in the block - it is now all together...

Everytime we bolted something on, the last bolt would just strip the little thread it had, so it had to all come off again, block any open ports to stop swarf getting in and use another insert.

Anyway it is worth it in the end.

Forgot to take a pic of it all together, will do that today but it will go in tonight. :D

Massive thanks to Team Zen for working with me til the early hours of this morning getting it to this stage... above and beyond.

Now in a Zen like state of knackeredness :D
