Ha ha Stu, yep that's the stock battery ! It wont fit in my enginebay with the new vmount kit though so will either be buying one of the smaller ones or going for an install in the boot. Just depends on time.....ticking now with less than a month till mapping :(

Hi Trev, its been about a year and a half since I drove it. Plus when I do drive it with the new turbo setup I'm aiming for about 70bhp more......100more if I can get it but not sure about the fuel pump I have. The plan has always been to get a reliable 400 at the fly but if I can get 420-430 at the fly then that would be ace.

Havent changed the clutch yet though so I reckon that will also be a weak point but should last for the mapping and I can get that changed afterwards.

But yep it should be mega plus a tad different than the 55bhp Polo I drive around in or Ems 1.6 Mini (which if I rev high I get disapproving looks :) ) !!

Everyone likes shiny bits.....especially me !!
This is a big turbo pulley from Pineapple racing (big RX tuning company in the US) that as I am not running an airpump helps stop stress and strain on the main shaft (particularly water cavitation issues) but couldnt fit the other one I had bought (like Gedge has on his) as the turbo was too big.

Shiny....shame it doesnt match the red of the other pulleys but it helps tart the enginebay up a bit ;)

Back...this bit will be covered though :(

Hopefully can fit this week but time is limited :(

On the battery route mate, I have this; http://www.tayna.co.uk/31M-Westco-MX-5- ... P2811.html

Its a sealed unit so you can have it in the boot. The wiring is really easy. 4 gauge from the original live point to the boot with a breaker near the battery. I used this as a breaker: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0033GCUE2

Get a solid 14V with this setup

Thanks Chris, I have spoken a bit with Dom about this. The main worry I have is that I have the water injection piping going down the inside (under the trims) to the front of the car and the battery wire would have to sit next to this......not ideal should there be any leaks. But If I wrapped the battery wire in something that should help shouldnt it.

How did you mount the battery itself in the boot ? Have seen all sorts of dodgy things and flimsy brackets plus even rope holding them down. Want to have something secure if poss.

Guys yep its not red but its not on full view like the other pulleys so its not as obvious. See this pic below and mine is the BT version....

Mine is in a box which is bolted to the boot floor.

Can't you route it through the middle of the car?
