Very quick update.

The last few months have seen me:

- Fully strip and re-furb/re-paint the rear TT subframe
- Rebuild and re-furb the TT diff
- Fitted DW solid rear subframe bushes
- Fitted DW solid diff bushes (rear)
- Fitted Japspeed polybush diff bushes (front)
- Re-fitted the TEIN Type Flex coilovers front and rear (lowered by a further 60mm all round)
- Re-furbed and re-fitted all of the DW rear adjustable arms and DW HICAS kit
- Removed the Origin Lab carbon GT wing due to a 'mis-hap' (read: the entire car fell off the stands, crashed into a caravan and fooked' the wing)
- Fitted and painted the custom rear wide arch kit (now approximately 100mm wider than stock)
- Fitted Mitsubishi Evo PAS cooler
- Fitted Super Pro steering rack polybushes
- Heat sleeved the PAS cooler pipework
- Stripped and repainted the main dashboard bar
- The VG31DETT has been fully stripped and intricately re-built, replaced all gaskets and re-furbed all ancillary components
- Ported and polished lower plenum
- Re-built and ported/polished both heads, seated new valves
- Re-built both GT675 RS turbos (ball ache of a job)
- Replaced stock CAS disc with upgraded AEM CAS disc (another ball ache of a job)
- Rubbed down and painted underneath entire car

*Engine going back together right now....boom! :sifone:

I've just spent the morning stripping and de-burring the teeth on the flywheel of that Carbonetic triple plate clutch, that also was a tedious ball ache...

The oil pan appears to be very slightly distorted on the drivers side rim so am attempting to tap it straight again.

Last night I stripped the Replacement S1 injector connectors ready to replace the current S2 connectors (the new 850 injectors are S1)

The Greddy fmic, ARC oil cooler and Greddy radiator are now back in so that I can start getting the pipework made up.

You know you're getting close to putting the engine back in the car once the spark plugs have been fitted :driving:

Following on from our conversation at Oulton regarding basic aero, the first part is currently being fab'd in the workshop

and the Rocket Bunny spoiler fits quite snugly, it needs very little work to get it to fit

getting the old crappy vinyl decals off is proving to be a pain in the butt though, I think I'll go back to simple satin black for now and maybe a splash of colour to match the green and white rims.

I spent some time today sorting through the HKS gauges and sensors (all mechanical) and for the most part they are ready to go. I've dug out an old Greddy/Grex sandwich plate and that all seems to be in order despite the internal adaptor being for something other than a Nissan (so typically I had to order another part).

I'm also missing the end off the oil pressure line, so I need to replace that and after an hour of fiddling about trying various pipes and brackets for fitting the water temp sensor I eventually realised that the Greddy radiator has a port tapped already (doh!)

All in all not a bad day but still loads to get cracking on with, mostly soldering the new loom.

All good fun :sifone:

Look forward to seeing how you get on with the fabrication project. Getting decals off a car is a right ball ache and there's no quick fix.

If the hairdryer method doesn't work then I'll get cracking with the orbital sander I think.

I don't know what I was thinking putting that vinyl on there in the first place, it looks shit

Ok so after a lot of faffing I've managed to complete the injector connector swap (S2 to S1), it was a bit of a ball ache as the old loom had to be trimmed right back in order to get to some decent copper wire as it had degraded a bit at the ends over the years.

The final part of the engine arrived last week, a nice shiny Unorthodox Racing alloy alternator pulley. It cost nigh on £100 shipped from the US after all taxes etc but I figured that I might as well not scrimp on the very last piece....so just one part to go on, surely that'd be pretty straight forward!

Was it fuck!!

My zed is a 1995 300zx (z32) TT JDM model imported from Japan, to that end you would assume that if I purchased the correct part to fit a 1995 300zx (z32) TT JDM model then all would be good

The part that was supplied is about 5mm smaller in diameter than stock with a centre bore 2mm larger than the alternator spindle? So it doesn't sit right on the alternator spindle and moves way too much for it to be workable.

The US supplier have confirmed that I definitely ordered the correct part for the car and can't explain why it doesn't fit, they've asked if the alternator had ever been changed (which as far as I know it hasn't) though it's possible that it may have been changed in Japan. There may be a difference between pre '95 and post '95 zed TT's though nobody seems to be able to give a definitive answer as to what those differences are?

The difference between NA and TT is 70amp vs 90amp and 3 rib belt vs 4 rib belt, however I can't see any reference to spindle sizes being different between any of the alternators?

Now the supplier has gone quiet and I'm guessing they'll let me send it back to swap it for a different one but that will cost extra $ in shipping taxes and more importantly bloody time....just a pain in the arse that I could have done without

Once this pulley issue is sorted the engine will be ready to go back in, fully rebuilt from scratch and ready to rock :sifone:

Next job is the fuel system, luckily there's a place nearby that can supply all of the custom pipes and hoses needed so fingers crossed that this next stage will be pretty hassle free.
