That is a stunning looking engine bay!!
Looks really uncluttered too not having a TMIC. Makes such a difference to the overall look.

Defo car porn!!
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Okay chaps, well this has been the (shamefully very little) goings on since i updated this.

For reasons i dont care to go into, i now have absoutely no connections to Mocom Racing and the people that work there. This has been the case since Nov 2008.

So be aware that im doing this 150% alone.

In january i was doing bits here and there when i had time. I spent 3 days with a heat gun carefully removing all the vinyls from the car and had the painstanking task of glue removing and polishing every panel inch by inch.

Getting the car back to the way i want it will be a slow process but at least its a start.

But heres a quick at how shes looking now.

100% of the car is now fully devinyled and 90% deglued...

I decided to drop the 2ltr long block back in and start mocking up the up-pipe/downpipe arrangement and finding out where the turbo will sit best.

The motor is sat on her mounts and bolted up to the bellhousing. The manifolds were on and i had a dummy up-pipe in place with the turbo loosely bolted up.

I had planned on mocking up all the pipework with the 2ltr long motor in. Once happy i would take it out and build the 2.5 motor. I had been sent some pipes from a US company that were designed for LHD cars. They wanted me to take all the relevant measuremnets etc with their pipes fitted and then they would make alterations to make me a set of pipes to suit. So in exchange for them getting a set of RHD pipes i would get a set made for little or no cost.
I did all of the work and sent dozens of emails and over 100 pics and measurements to them. Inc sending the original pipes back to them.
To this day ive had no contact from them so have decided its not gonna happen and will just have to do it alone. I have a friend who is a Motorsport Fabricator. He told me to get my motor built and in. He would then fab the pipes for me, so thats what im going to do.

Heres the 2ltr in with me mocking a dummy turbo setup.

In the meantime i decided to make some billet fuel rails for my build.

You know you have the best mates in the world when they buy you gifts like this. Cheers to MADDOG for a nice little pressie he got for me. :)

And as of yesterday, i knew i had to get moving with this. So i took the 2ltr motor back out and am going to be stripping/cleaning parts from it ready for the 2.5 motor.

Other current setbacks are my forged pistons were found to be mis-machined. These have been sent back to the distributor and he is dealing with it for me.

So here i am, sod all done but bang up to date :)
