Ok Nismo lip being re attached. Or I might buy a new one and sell the old bonnet with it on. Seen some carbon ones... (not carbon "look" this time haha)

Interesting feedback that and as you say, as likely to be primer as filler. Strange that it's so thick, is that necessary? but if someone had a moody job done where they painted it before it was dry etc as you say Stu then that would explain it.

Also good to hear you reckon that quote isn't way out. I didn't think it was as I also spoke to him about the rear arches etc and that conversation was where I thought it should be so my surprise at the cost of doing the bonnet was probably more my ignorance.

Pez, yes bud, I think I'll either get them painted with the bonnet or see if the new calsonic sticker covers them. either way they are toilet. they may actually look better against the blue bonnet rather tahn the the grey but I think it's wishful thinking...

Yes Malc, this is very true, and I'm really looking forward to it.

So, I've avoided posting this on my thread, mainly for fear of Malc getting out of my car after the warm up laps muttering words along the lines of "I'm not a fucking miracle worker..." having experienced the wild stabs of throttle brakes and steering that I call a lap (esp if I'm in the pub).

However, I've booked Malc for a days 1-1 driver training at Snett at the end of the month as now (touching as much wood as I can) the GTR seems to be behaving itself I really feel it's time I had some proper instruction rather than just keep caning it round.

I'm really excited about it and hence having been getting as much ironed out on the car as poss I really hope it behaves itself on the day. I'll prob start another thread to let everyone know how I get on as it's a bit off topic in "builds", but i may just wait and ensure he's actually prepared to teach me :)

If your time with Maxx is anything like as productive as the few hours tuition I had with him, then your craft will improve ten fold.
Hand on heart, I can say that it's better money spent than any car modification!
Just beware of Malc grabbing the wheel as you pilot your ride into the esses at well over a ton :willy_nilly:

Ha, well that's something to look forward to... and combined with one of my bad habits which Stu will attest too, of not having both hands on the wheel even in oppo scenarios there'll be plenty of room for Malc to grab it :willy_nilly:

Got a 3rd quote on the bonnet painting today so it;s going in next wednesday, he's also gonna paint the new aerocatches so they aren't carbon look anymore.

Also managed to get my nismo lip off the old bonnet. It wasn't actually bolted on, was bonded on with tigerseal or similar which is good because I can now try and flog the old bonnet without it, and without holes.

So once painted and all fluids topped up etc, she's ready for my day with Malc - can't wait
