You can see that where its mounted i belive Gerry.
Just so happens it is right beside my boost gauge anyway lol

Frayz, from experience, i always set my defis to monitor fuel pressure differential, this way you dont have to do any mental gymnastics, you just look at the gauge.
Simply press the <<and>> buttons at the same time and it should switch it to differential mode.
This function has saved my engine once on the dyno and once on the road.

Thanks for that StevenP20SPD wrote:Frayz, from experience, i always set my defis to monitor fuel pressure differential, this way you dont have to do any mental gymnastics, you just look at the gauge.

Does the display remain in diff. mode or does it revert to reg. pressure?
Looks like I need to get a Defi fuel pressure guage now then.
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
Cheers for that Steven, ive learnt something new today.
Will the sender be okay where it is mounted at the moment?
Once its set on differential mode, will i need to set the end points on the gauge?
Will the gauges do anything to let me know theyre in differential mode?

It's only the FPG that switches to DIFF mode, and can be toggled between the two by pressing the buttons again. The control unit indicates DIFF mode by lighting a RED LED on the control unit, thats it.
It will remain in diff mode untill you toggle out of it or the battery is disconnected.
The sender will be fine where its mounted, i would have put mine there but chose elsewhere due to also wanting a engine gauge, so it could be adjusted without having to look in the cabin.
The waring point for the gauge still remains the same i think, ie normal pressure setting. However, once set in differential mode and the engine is running the FPG needle should hardly ever move, unless there is something wrong.
To give you an idea of how usefull, this was on mine. When mapping on the road, we suddenly started having to pile loads of fuel in as it was going lean at the top end. No amount of map altering changed the situation. We thought the lambda was goosed, then switched the gauge to DIFF mode, and first WOT run, it was instantly obvious. Not enough fuel to the rails!
Changed pumps from 2 walbros to 2 909's, thinking they were failing at the top, quick test, and watching the gauge told me the problem still existed, all it took was one WOT application, and as soon as the needle started to drop, i lifted off.
We changed the injectors, as the motec was inferring they were at 100% anyway, so out with the 800's and in with the 1000's, repeat test, and as expected no change.
It turned out to be the fuel filters had reached the end of their life. Changed the elements of them for fine steel mesh (reusuable) at a cost of
