Lovely update & an enjoyable read. Seeing your plate reminds me of a time where I unknowingly caught up with you on the A47 to see if I could encourage you to use some of your performance............it worked a treat and you disappeared like Star Trek!! :hurray:

Glad to see you're getting the love back mate. Well done.

It was a few weeks ago, maybe three now and as far as the car I was driving..........let's just say that it had enough oompth to catch you up off of the roundabout initially and remains totally stealthy. Sold now, and no chance of catching you with the current 'steed' unless you're on one of APT's ramps.

Saw Jaydee yesterday to sort out my cruise map, when he was last up we had a few issues with the cars so we were not able to do the road mapping side of things only the dyno work. So another bright an early start for me on a Saturday, my wife gave me the look disbelief when I got up and muttered something about being mad. Cheeky pit stop on route to get some breakfast and I was set to drive down to powergains.

Rain, how I hate rain! I ended up getting to Thetford and ringing Jaydee as I was worried it was simply too wet to do any sort of road mapping and we wold have to postpone. I was assured the weather was ok his end so I continued, my map only need adjusting up to 4k anyway as all the high RPM stuff had alreay been done on the dyno. Then my bonnet started lifting on one side on the dual carrigeway! Pulled over and one of my bonnet pins and started unscrewing itself, glad I packed my toolls.

Rocked up at powergains, its like something out of a movie 'Hi Jay, I am here', 'OK, will let you in', then the very tall sliding solid gate your parked in front of starts moving and you drive through to a courtyard which was full of some very nice rotary powered machines.

Jaydee setup all his gear and we went out, the skys litterally opened up...in a good way and let the sun through it was like the keyfob he used to open the gate also controlled the weather.

Mapping was straight forward and Jaydee spent alot of time tweaking and tailoring the map to my crusing speeds and driving style.

The cruise map is smooth, very smooth, in fact to quote Jermey Clarkson 'its as smooth as Roger Moore, dipped in olives oil wrapped in Silk sheets!'

All in all now very happy with it, and I used about 15 quids less fuel on the drive home!

Good update and it sounds like things were a lot smoother on his own patch as opposed to getting him to travel up here? Powergains is a bit of a mystery to me........I kind of like the mystique of something that is tucked away like that (i.e. hidden from the public eye)

What's next for the Rex then?

Powergains were a bit of a mistery for me as well, I have only met Jaydee when he had been up to Norwich so Saturday was my first experience of them on home soil. I got to see Kermins car, I believe is the main dude at powergains I think, his car is something special but its still currently in development,

Jaydee basically did the work FOC yesterday as I had paid for my map to be updated the last time we were at APT so I thought that was good of him and he didnt really cut any corners either. The issue we had was at APT we didnt have enough time due to all 3 cars on the day having issues so Gareth and I never got our road maps done.

I terms of what is next... well...I want to try and enjoy it as much as possible. I do have some more bits to go on the car which I have collected, however I am wondering when to put them on as the weather is so good at the moment and the going is good in terms of the car running so well. Also I am kinda itching for another track day! I have also got a carbon bonnet which I could put on however I am thinking about selling this as I want to take the look of the car in a different direction now, I want to keep the look of the car more inline with the original lines, amplifying whats there rather than creating something new if that makes sense?

Anyway... all will be reveiled soon
