Sounds good. Happy to have a bit of a laugh whatever Rob

By the way, there are other VAG cars going. I know that there is an Audi RS6 and Lamborghini Gallardo coming along too.

No got it from a guy at work with a blown head gasket - but a new lump would sort that, might be cheaper than some of the other options for a cheap track car or are you after a conversion kit Ben?

After two long weeks, well it always seems longer when you're waiting, the car was ready and the car was finished. Although there have been some hiccups with the work so far, I'm not going to waste time on that, suffice to say that the quality of the work seems high and I am absolutely delighted with the car.

I popped in to see some progress on Wednesday, I just couldn't wait any longer

The bodyshell's of cars always look worse when they are up on ramps, and this one was no different. Plenty of scope to improve the bodywork when and if I can be bothered. The underside was excellent though (Thank God)
Image
The car will go through a gentle curve of tweeks over the coming months, but only to fine tune it to my tastes (No camo)

The plan for the big old 17's is to sell them on, to recoup some funds for other bits.
Image
I have a lovely set of Compomotive MO's to go on, once they have been refurbed and fitted with treble eights.
Image

I collected the other three from Trev today and once the rally wets are removed, they will be rubbed down and painted matt black.

Some driving feedback then;

Grace has no power steering so she's hard work compared to other cars I've used in recent years, but the feel is great and that will only get better when the 15's go on. The throttle response is sharp and the typical cammy nature of old school 16v's is true of the Golf too. Once around 4.5k rpm the car digs deeper and goes OK. The brakes and suspension seem well matched to reasonable paced road stuff. I think it would be a bit stressed under really hard track work but then that isn't why I've got this car. More of a cheap, fun allrounder.

More feedback and updates when some more bits arrive in a few weeks :)
