Awesome job on the car again mate.

How did you polish and paint the diff guard?

I am definitley going to do my brake calipers in the winter like you showed on the other thread and your work on that diff guard looks great.

I wet/dry the ally till i was 99% happy with the finish. P380 grit followed by P600 grit

Then i cleaned the diff guard with some thinners to make sure i had removed any grease etc. Dry the diff guard thoroughly.

Then painted in the letters with ford touch up pots. Allowed the paint to fully dry.

Then continue to wet/dry with soap and water and the excess paint will be removed and leaves you with the finish you see here. I then buffed a few times with Autosol to get the morror finish.

Ta daaaaaaaa. :D

You cant beat a good buffing 8-[

I have to say that I would never have the patience to do that, but it does look awesome.

Now, stop fannying around on stuff and go kill some flies with the front of the car :D

Just enjoying driving it too much right now.

My new geometry which includes having all 4 wheels toeing out makes for some interesting driving too :D

Ive decided that im gonna lose my mudflaps for sure.

Decided that i dont like em anymore, and they dont suit the track theme of the car. The only reason they have stayed this long is the amount of crap they keep off of the car.

What do you lot think?

I say keep them for precisely that reason - they keep the crap off the car.

I dont like them mate, think cars look better with them off. They spoil the lines of the car....and not very friendly when you have 5 people in the Scoob !!!!

You clean it often enough anyway so I wouldnt worry about the dirt !!

Just remember this pic which made me laugh....
