Just thought I would share this, at work for my secret santa I got the below pic put on a mug and 'I love a good wankle' written on it!

I am working on the car over the winter, mainly maintenance bits and bobs and getting things in line to tackle cosmetics...Will update soon!

Well today work started, I have been collecting a few bits in order to sort a few issues and now the time has come....

First off, my last drive of the car this year the clutch slave decided it decided it was going to poop itself :( So five miles away from home I basically had no clutch. I managed to get the car home without crunching the gearbox once which was good. I have decided to order a replacement but I have gone for a FEED item from RHDJapan, I am hoping it will reduce the amount of pedal pressure required to use the clutch. Its now ordered and I expect to get that over the next few weeks.

I have got the car up in the air at the moment, thought I would fix the MOT advisory (also a good time as all the clutch/brake fluid was puked out) and replace a rear brake line so thats one thing ticked off.

Sometime ago I got a engine undertray as I was missing one, I then decided there would be no point fitting it as I have got a oil leak coming from the sump (very very common on RX7's). Now I have decided to fix this now while I have the car off the road. In order to fix the engine sump leak I need to take the sump off and reseal the sump. I will probably replace the sump while I am doing the job, I am also going to add a sump brace from DM motorsport. In doing all of this I will cleaning alot of the underside of the front of the car. This evening I have got to the point were the engine is support and no longer sat on the subframe, and I have drained the oil. I have partially dropped the subframe, I however need to get some more tools to remove the last few nuts.

So currently the car looks like this:

<iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/95202371@ ... 79ae085db0" height="681" width="1024" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe>

<iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/95202371@ ... e9d7a886f3" height="681" width="1024" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe>

Once I have this fixed I will need to relocate my relocated power steering cooler and get the undertray is on. Once the under tray is on I will be able to clean the engine and not have it get dirty as soon as I drive the car.

Once I am able to keep the engine clean I have some parts which will be getting sent off to be painted/power coated.

I am also thinking about getting an earlier spec bumper which I will put on while I get my 99 spec bumper resprayed. I will then keep the earlier spec bumper for track days.

Finally I have got to sort out either a bonnet catch or some additional aero catches for my new carbon bonnet which I had to take off due to it getting lifted up.

Busy busy!

Haha yes, must err... be something in the water! The clutch slave going has trigged me into sorting a load of jobs out that need to be done as I wouldnt be driving the car in the winter anyway.

Will be back running, new and improved very shortly :)
