That sounds a bit like the time I told Tan that I needed a new Momo wheel for one of the cars years ago; the MOT tester had told me the original one had worn out ;)

I'd missed/ forgotten the part where you'd specced the gearbox as I didn't realise that you were using a sequential now (it figures that you would with the power that you are using)

*
I found an old F body cheap yesterday........thought of you saying something along the lines of 'well, it's a start!'

Happy early birthday

I had a C4 gearbox before which ended up with Gary as it wouldn't take the power of the new engine. Have gone for a th400 with transbrake as they seem to be the way to go and a tried and tested gearbox. Built by Andy Frost and cheap on parts if ever they are needed
Are you coming over to the Dark Side? F body would be cool.................

The day has arrived where the engine is finished, went to see Jeff Bull and pick it up in the dodge.........

While it was on the back of the pick up sorted out the motor plate and fitting the alternator and lining up the pulleys. This took most of the afternoon but wanted to make sure it all lined up properly. I have the carb which is a Holley Dominator 1493cfm just waiting for the filter to turn up

That engine is a work of art mate. I bet it is that shiny inside too. Too nice to put in a car lol.

I can't wait to see, hear and ride in this beast.

Got a lot done today with the help of a few mates, first problem of the day was that the engine lift wasn't man enough for the engine and gearbox so had to do a bit of fabrication to make it steady. Fitted the torque converter, flexiplate and gearbox to the engine

Then very carefully position and lower engine into the car

Image

Image

Engine in, needed to try the radiator to see if it fitted I knew it would be close but just got away with it

Mounted the coil and fuel regulator

Image

Then the expansion tank

Managed to get the gearbox cable set up, propshaft in and a few of the electrical jobs done

Few more electrical jobs done, prop shaft loop fitted and "hood" mounted for a temporary fitting

The filter will stick up above the bonnet by 6 inches, we mocked up a cardboard scoop and I didn't like it at all. I got hold of a 4 inch cowl scoop and by changing the filter I will be able to fit this on and retain some vision. I will get this moulded fitted and sprayed later once I have sorted out a lower filter. Meanwhile I placed it on the bonnet to show how it will look
