598ci, for those unsure (as I was), is 9.8 litres!

That block looks like a real work of art mate. You say that it's getting tiresome but I'm not sure I know anyone with your level of patience. I am confident that the investment in time and effort will reward you.

Anyway, keep us update. If nothing else, your signature makes me laugh every time I read it :)

Some assembly work has been carried out on the bottom end, waiting for a shipment from the states to finish the top end - here is the build to date

I have got a Barry Grant fuel pump which is rated at 400 gallons an hour but it won't be man enough to fuel the nitrous as well so I will fit a second pump to run with the nitrous. Talking to Jeff Bull the figures for fuel will be around 5mpg urban and 4 gallons to the mile at full throttle which I suppose when you break it down to 1225cc per cylinder is about right.

That engine is a piece of art. Beautiful!!

When it's all finished and finally on the strip how many ponies do you think will it make and what qtr mile times are you gunning for?

Looking to achieve low to mid 9's with 700 - 800bhp and a sniff of gas if needed

Needed to get the engine mounted as some extra braces had to be welded in to hold the engine mounts, still waiting for a shipment from the states so as the bottom end is completed on the engine we just bolted the heads and manifold on to get the fit right so the work could be done. The headers have been made, wheelie bars fitted, gearbox and propshaft are in and all of a sudden shit loads to be done again!! The engine and gearbox will come out tomorrow and back up to Jeff Bull to finish off when the shipment arrives meanwhile I can get on with the spraying - some more pics.............

Wheelie bars

Image

In this pic you can see how tight it is for space on the headers in some areas, like the steering rack

Image

The headers come down to the collectors which are 4 inch although might end up running 3 inch exhaust for the street and open headers for the track to make life easier

Image

And to finish off a couple of shots of the engine in place with the motor plates and additional struts to support the engine
