most of the VF's including the 28 are roller bearing so are always going to "whine down"..............

why do you need a centre??

I bought a back box however stupidly assumed that I had a standard centre pipe, when we got underneath we found that the custom exhaust comes off the front connector. So to be able to fit the quieter backbox I need the centre. Impreza breakers have loads for next to nothing.

I'll ignore the whine then :) .. no issues with power or smoke ... just when you switch off you get a whine for a couple of seconds.

You sure that the whine is not Emily asking you to slow down?

You're assuming that Emily actually will get in it :)

Nor me!!! .. hence why it was a surprise to be informed that it was a good race :)

Actually I think I will qualify this story before people get the wrong idea! - I was merrily driving down the A14, just crossed the Thickthorn roundabout, not going particulary quick, anyway pulled in for fuel at Attleborough .. so queuing to pay .. A guy in the queue asked me if I was in the Subaru, I said yes, he promptly told me that it was an awesome race ... I was in the fiesta - to this my response was, umm no offence chap, what fiesta and I wasn't aware that i was racing anyone, and if I was actually booting it he would have certainly known about it! ... he looked rather crest fallen.

Well It's far more practical and doesn't attract any where near as much attention ... ok, driving .. Stu and I have had some debate about this - I frekin love it - the GTR and Type R are cars for two totally different purposes .. If I had to do a cross country back road then the Type R would be the choice, If I had to get down the A11 to Cambridge then without a question the GTR. Where the Type R has run out of steam the GTR is entering hyper drive! (picture the bit from starwars when the millienuim falcon jumps to light speed)

I prefer the Type R because you can drive it round town without it trying to kill you :). The type R suffers very little lag and is geared to accelerate like a cat being poked up the arse with a scotch bonnet covered stick! .. however for what it has gained in insane acceleration it loses in top speed .. driving at 70 on the motorway is 4500 revs so really quite unpleasant.

Type R handles like a gokart from the get go where as the GTR needs to be driven on the limit to come alive. The GTR requires slow gear changes where as the quick shift in the Type R is really forgiving.

For me the most important factor is that if the Type R misses a beat you just go .. oh well ..in the GTR, your heart goes as you worry about the next stupid bill!.

I love both cars and if I won the lottery, I'd have both without question, oh and an Rx7 :)
