A bit more done today. it was raining and cold most of the day so decided to take the manifolds off the heads a right bitch of a job
At the same time i thougth i would take the old wasste gate off aswell. Took an hour to get the wastegate off :( That was the easy part had to cut most of the bolts off to get the turbo and manifold off th head and these were all new bolts 2 years ago.

Found another problem as well the manifold on the turbo side had been leaking  A couple of hours work left to do and we should be ready to drop the engine :)

Another weekend and more work to be done on the car tomorrow. The plan for sunday is to remove the suspension, hubs and brakes. Test fit a new propshaft, make up template to allow relocation of wastegate and a few other bits.

Alan has also started on a new front bumper he took the 2 bumpers home with him last week and had it made in rough in an hour. It weighs about half as much as the current one and offers better cooling. Along this line he is also planning to relocate the oil cooler.

Pictures of our progress will be put up tomorrow :)

Dunc.....I have been marking out areas to be cut starting with a hacksaw. Don't trust myself with a hole cutter to start with

Jason....Thanks for that link will defo have to look into that

Well today didn't have to many jobs to do and managed to get them all done. So now all the jobs that we had down for november are all done and a couple from our december list :)

The shocks are being sent back to Avo to be reconditioned and fitted with custom made springs.

This is the new front prop that we were test fitting. A bit bigger than the current one. Abit of work will be needed to make it fit.

Well the strip down has gone to plan so far  . That's the easy bits done. This Friday we are taking the heads over to the company that'll be doing the work on them and have a chat with the guy.
The plan for the weekend is to take the engine out completely. Then once it's out the fun starts, stripping it down to the bare block. Everything is being inspected, All gaskets to be changed sumped to baffled, if we can find someone to do it....Still looking.

Whom and how much Pablo? The father in law will almost certainly need one for his car next year. Do you know if the 24v sump will be the same?
