Fair play Darren........I take it you're sticking the fabric to the existing headlining? What colour did you decide upon? (Pics ;) )

So, oil pressure and temp gauges mounted, just got to fit sandwich plate and wire everything up.

Then started to strip interior to remove headlining:-

Rear seats and spare wheel cover removed, quite easy after finding a brilliant guide on TeamIntegra website.

Rear quarter trims removed and rear triangle trims around windows:-

After reading some horror stories about dc2,s rusting from the inside out I got a nice surprise after removing my trims, NO rust! :hurray: Going to waxoil inside before refitting.

Headlining finally removed, job done in just over an hour :-

New material fitted today, a bit of a pain with all the curves in the headliner :-

Material cost me £20 off ebay, plus I had to get some double sided tape and fabric glue. I,ve done the a pillar trims as well and have to say this has really smartened up the interior. What needs doing on your golf lol

That sounds like a bargain and well worth looking into!
Mine has the very common problem with mk2`s in that the rear roof lining is well now just about hanging off. I had an interior trimmer friend try to re-glue it a couple of months back but because the thin foam layer between the material and hardboard is perishing its all got to be stripped off before anything can be stuck back on. I like the look (and price) of the alcantara option! :)

Just make sure you get the proper spray glue as I had to do mine twice :banghead:
