Well the last 2 saturdays have been busy with working on the car had a shopping list which i ordered.
brakes 4 pot fronts 2 pot rears grooved and drilled discs from a 2002 bug eye also ordered the brackets to fit the bigger rear discs and 2pot calipers. and braided brake lines
suspention i bought new a set of BC coilovers
so these where the first parts to be fitted

The old stuff was a bit of a bitch to get off but with a bit of heat and brut force got it all swapped over. looks a lot better from old to new.

The rears where a little more fiddierly as the bigger discs you have to chisel of the dust cover to also fit the brackets to move the caliper further up.

after the golf ive got a bit of a cleaning problem its taking me twice as long as i have to clean and paint every part i remove or buy second hand, i got the original spoiler for the car which i had to paint and also painted the front grille and with the paint left in the gun i painted the arch's.

Next up was to fit the front mount dump valve and air filter and move the battery to the boot as ive never liked the idea of a metal intercooler pipe running next to the positive terminal of the battery' i bought the intercooler dump valve and air filter second hand so had to be cleaned and painted went with satin black.

Fitting the battery in the boot i got a alloy battery carrier from ebay and the cable also removed the sound deadning from where it was going to sit.
feeding the battery cable through the cabin to the engine bay was a pain as not used to removing interiors and then putting it all back in.

Will be back over there saturday to fit the spoiler and check everything ive fitted and then get it taxed and insured in the new year and have a drive.
Hope you all have a great christmas

Looking really great Mike, well done mate. So glad that you've got stuck into this in the same way that you tackled the Golf
What treatment did you use for the arches? I presume that you've either repainted these or sealed them at least.....
I know what you mean about a cleaning problem. I am becoming a bit obsessed with cleaning the hell out of everything that is stationary
Have a great Christmas Mike.
All the best
