Will the XR4x4 one you got me fit Rob's GLS? If so, Pete has said that he can have it, he's just working out a fair price (whatever he paid for it, so that won't be much)

Right, quick update.
500 miles done since purchase have revealed the brakes are coming back nicely (still want to upgrade though), I'm getting the hang of the heavy unassisted and slightly slow rack (Has good feel at speed) and the engine is loosening up, with reasonable torque for what it is. I get different reactions to the car, some people think it's amazing, other think it's a joke:)
I'm not worried, I like it and at least it's different.
The things done 370 miles to a tank when doing mixed driving which is better than I was expecting, especially after being used so infrequently for it's life. (And I can tell you she likes to get her bum out;))
I've realised my hope for keeping it all standard is far fetched already, as the hub caps (remember those anyone?) are rare and worth keeping safe and unscathed, and the tyres in the current size are
A: Expensive for what you get
B: Rubbish brands generally (Especially for "our" interests)
So I'm getting some 15" alloys, with reasonable rubber, knowing that replacements rubber is cheap and widely available.
It also means bigger brakes are an option later.
I've also done a little research, and with some help from Dave and Bart have started collating a shopping list.
I've located a tubular manifold and will start building a pile of bits to do the engine work with.
I still plan to get it rolling roaded before the work is done, for a before and after, but once the new wheels and tyres are on, I'll finish the sills and do some more pictures.
