Yes mate that why we getting on with the final jobs, SVA booked for mid April to meet the current rules. If it fails you get 6 months to sort it inline with current rulings so important to get booked in and tested. The last one was done at Norwich but some miserable fella tested it and gave no hints along the way as to how it was going. Might bump into you if your there regularly.
AArgh! that would explain the trike being pushed in today! it looked far from finnished, they obviously knew it was going to fail, but wanted the 6 months grace! I bet it was les doing your last test, he is the grumpy fella of the bunch, if you get jim he is a mx5 nut (live`s for the owners club) talk mx5`s you will soon win him over
Cheers for the hint, keep my fingers crossed we get him and get talking.

Nearly comnplete now, had a trial run loading up as it mm close and took some thinking about getting it on safely.

Quick update.

Car failed a few weeks ago on items that can only be described as ludicrous ie rear reflectors having the wrong radius, track rod end nuts with sharp edges ie the shape of a nut WTF :o

Issue have been sorted and went back for a retest yesterday and it passed

Hopefully it will see a few of the some months, just need registering and possibly an MOT.

Yep, miserable git does he have happy head
Spent a few nights taking off the SVA compliant stuff and putting on the nice bits, the test really is a joke.
No one has been for the new test yet :o

there have been a few cars thart have passed the IVA although an SVA compliant car will probably fail an IVA due to the stupidly exact specification for certain things.

IMO the SVA was necessary and although seemingly anal in some places actually stopped alot for dangerous cars from getting on the road. The tester I had was very fair, offered advice on what would be acceptable and what should be improved even though it was deemed acceptable under the rules. It was just annoying that it failed on emissions with 0.32% CO on idle whereas the limit was 0.3% so it was a "computer says no" moment.

Good luck with the registration, I've just done mine too :)

Had this on the rollers today and it made a very strong 129bhp, very happy with that.
