Both great cars as Ben says. If I had someone local I could trust to service it, I would go for the Mazda. I loved my 32 I had but a stiff, lightweight, rear wheel drive blown very hard by a bloody great T51 (rotary's spool up big turbos very well) would be just about bob on for me.
Combined with aesthetics that I'd give my left nut for and you're laughing.
