Hi Trev,
Clearing out the garage yesterday I found a set of new NGK 1263 BP6ET's from my old 1.8GTi. Any use to you?

well not as much progress as i wanted so far, the limited time i had this weekend i got rid of front and rear bumpers, stripped the headlining painted inside roof satin black and half the floor black, i was going to leave the top half of the dash in but sod it that can come out aswell,

i have now decided which engine set up is going in and just waiting for the right one to come up for the right price, going to be using an abf 16v out of a mk3 gti which produces 150 bhp as standard, obviously there will be no cat, a set of high lift cams, and fuelling will be a set of r1 bike carbs :-D
still plenty of time till next march time when the fun begins again (although knowing me i'l have something completely different by then)

few things off the top of my head i need to get

engine
carbs and filters
fpr with gauge
r1 fuel pump
full roll cage
sparco evo3 seat
3" harness
berg cup arch kit
f/g tailgate/wings/bonnet
polycarb windows
set of rims (undecided what to use but they need to be wide and 15" maybe bbs splittys with 2" outer rims)
and obviously tyres
cabriolet 100mm driveshafts
16v conversion 4 branch manifold and full system
brakes (undecided) maybe even standard calipers with 285mm conversion and 16v cylinder and rear disc conversion
this lot should get things moving along nicely

i think the finished paint will be matt black :D

Good luck mate. Sounds very ambitious but presumably it won't be at
Scooby prices. :D

bit of progress
interior is completely gone all thats left is some wires a set of clocks and a rear view mirror :o interior has had an attack with rattle cans of satin black
both front and rear bumpers have gone
its so light i can pick up the rear  and sitting so high on the shocks

i'v started the collection of bits needed
2 x 3" 5 point sabelt harnesses

corbeau reclining seats on mk1 bases (not by choice and will be getting a sparco evo3 bucket) but they were such a bargain i just simply could not say no and will do to get me going

picking up sunday a 6 point safery devices cage

a set of new coilovers

drivers door as the original had been dented in the popped out and did not look pretty

polycarb windows , im going to attempt to make these myself, i'v purchased enough for the whole car

on the verge of ordering the fibreglass panels and a set of compomotives after a chat to them the other day
Image
but i think i should get the mechanicals done first

i was thinking of running this out with its standard engine at the snetterton trackday but its just not going to happen (the rain has not helped things along)
hopefully in a couple of months this should be close to usable and with a little bit more hp per ton that it has at the moment :D
