Pass seat is always open mate, well, when my old man isn't strapped into it.

Footage wise I need to try and mount my go pro again. I put some padding where it used to be and when I tried mounting it on the cross bars just behind the seats it looked shit cos it was too far back from the windscreen. Might have to read the manwell and see if I can zoom it or something???

Just booked bedford for Monday :driving:

Although annoyingly it looks like I'm going to have to do it on the 888s rather than the slicks

Car seemingly all set for Bedford tomo and have re-mounted the go pro so if I get any meaningful footage I'll stick it up.

Can't wait to get back on track, even if it's not on the new slicks...

:hurray::hurray::hurray: It Works!! At last, a track day from start to finish with "no issues"

Bedford was, in a word, Awesome! I'm still grinning and can't stop :D

After a dodgy start which looked like i'd be going home after 2 laps due to noise, a lot of grovelling and another sound test and I was back on. It did mean I had to guess where the sound traps were and short shift/cruise by but I'm glad I did.

The diff has transformed the car, it really is amazing. It's a little bit tail happy out of the slow stuff but in the faster stuff it's fucking mental. The car steps out, you apply some lock and it jsut sort of stays there, while still firing itslf round the corner and off up the straight. I'm sooooo pleased with it, it suits my driving style to a tee and the car is just so much faster now.

On one of the fast right handers - don't know the names, I was turning in top end of 3rd, flooring it towards apex before grabbing fourth after and heading off down the straight. As the car settled into the corner, boost came up etc, the diff would lock up and tighten the line to the extent that a couple of times I had the inside wheel OVER the apex! Had to adjsut my line to anticipate the tightening effect of the diff!

The diff did spit a bit of oil out early on but I think it was from the breather rather than the shafts although hard to tell. I wiped it down and think it's found it's level but will get it on the ramps to make sure.

Otherwise it behaved itself impeccably - no oil surge, all temps good, brakes good. And I made the most of it!!!

I zero'd the clock when I juiced it up on sunday night. By Monday night she'd done 522kms. In that bedford is less than a 120 mile round trip from mine, that means I did 180 miles on track, flat out!

All I've managed to do is kill a front 888, but it was on it's way anyway. Strangely, despite it being sideways constantly the tyre wear on the rear appears to be much much better than before - must have really been spinning those insides up.

The GTR managed to pull over 145mph on the main back straight before the chicane according to the race box, and also see off a radical (chap came and spoke to me, top lad) Honda Supercharged Atom and a new clio cup race car (seriously fast round the twisties, was really wishing i had my slicks on then...).

So all in all, I'm a very happy bunny and looking to book the next one up asap.

As a special treat I had Perfection round today (who detail the rangey) to give it a full scrub up and detail - clay bar, carnuba wax etc etc, so she's currently resting in the garage and smelling of expensive polish

That was a nice read and bloody good news too  180 miles @ Bedford is pretty hardcore so the car must have earned that detailing session.

I bet the grin on your face is a bloody picture! Well done

Thanks bud. It's been a bloody long time coming and I've had some serious wobbles along the way, but when it all comes together it makes you remember why you do it.

You'll have to swing over to snett when I'm there for a pax lap :)

Good news that the GTR is working well and sounding like great fun to drive and i have to say that when i saw it last at Snetterton it looked like the quickest car there , i dont remember it being loud enough to bother the db meter . Sounds like Bedfords a fairly fast track and i will have to go there next year as i might suit the Camaro . I have a bit of a noise problem as well but i think i have a solution without hacking the exhaust system to bits , seems like theres always something to fix . Pete:Chevy_anim:

Fantastic news and a great write up. So glad that it's all come together for you at last:thumbs:. 145mph on the back straight is some going, we only managed about 130mph (Bart)(speedo) me 120mph:blush5:
