Yes Trev, a broken spring and a very, very worn top mount (as in it had around 25mm play in it) The coilovers are surprisingly supple on the settings that I started with.

I'm delighted with the wider track of the car as the offset gives me about 2" extra width over standard wheels.

This must be my quickest project completion to date............ ;)

Thanks again Mike

Can't wait to see this in action on the 10th, because if it looks and goes well around the track i may be investing in a mk2 gti :D

I'm not expecting miracles on the night at all. The car should be good fun and the new levels of grip and handling will take some getting used to, but it is still a 21 year old motor and will need some setting up I think.

Mike and I only guessed at some settings, but so far, so good. It will be totally different once again if the tyres and brakes get finished off.

I'll swap the pads next weekend so still room for improvement there but the handling is so much better. The T1-R's are scrubbed in now and the grip levels have gone up considerably.
