Right bit of an update.......as some of you know I have had a tough time this year and especially the last few weeks. The car has always been my refuge and helped give me some pleasure.
So decided to do a bit of work on the car, first up 99 spec lights.....
You have to heat up the rear lights and split them to reveal the interior....

You then have to make some circles and stick them over the lenses

Then its a case of spraying the lenses themselves and then peel off the circles until you are left with this

Then refit the lens, reheat the glue and they go back together so you are left with this

Then its a case of refitting back on the car so you have this.....
Off

On

I do like them, they look a bit better than the bog standard square light versions.
Also had to chance to do the mod I have wanted ever since buying my car and seeing Andrew (from Jimmys RX7 specialists) and his Spirit R (last ever 500 RX7s). It is a bumper from the 1999 -2002 RX7s.
It took a fair amount of work getting the old bumper off but the biggest issue was trimming the reinforcement bar to fit with the later spec lights which aren't oval like the old ones. All I can say is that I am glad I invested in a Dremel, what an amazing device that is !! Well until I had to use the smaller cutting discs and kept breaking them. But it certainly made the job quicker.
Here is the reinforcement bar before

and here is after a bit of work

Also had to do some riveting of the metal plates on the top left. Not bad for my first go riveting eh
Then it was a case of bolting the under tray back up etc, there are a few gaps because the trays under the oil coolers slightly different than the later spec one. May invest in one later but when I was given the cost of a 99 spec reinforcement bar of
