Small update, got the turbo heat shield on and my brand new second hand air filter finally turned up. Also sorted out all the IC piping. Chucked it all on and its starting to look more like business now...

I was just saying to Chris today, I have seen some really really clean FD engine bays recently. One day I would love to get my clean and all tarted up. For now, its gonna have to stay mucky while I get the bugger back on the road! Stu when you have a mo I might need to line your pockets while you make my FD's engine bay shine!

I have also got a new BOV to go on, I just need to find someone who can weld my aluminum flange to my piping. EGT guage is temporally setup so I could test it, turns out there is a loose connection in one of the plugs in the back of the controller... I may hardwire it as I am not sure where I can get a replacement.

I need to get the coil packs off this week so I can start work on putting in the new sexy loom, problem is some of the screws which are domed have been chewed up. Score

Also while I am doing all this, I have been busy chatting to the gents at APT and the legendary Rx7 mapper 'Jay D'. All being well he is going to grace Norfolk with his presence and map some Rx7's. Mine being one of them!!!

That is looking great mate. Really good.

Just a shame you are gonna have to take most of the top bits off again to do the loom :D

Haha yeah I know, I havent really bothered sorting out too much on that side as I know its coming off. I have been busy sorting out the hot side.

Also MOST importantly I have wired in my electric seats!

As some you know I have spoken to JayD and all is good in that respect but the APT guys wont be able to do dyno work on weekends for some time due to other commitments they have. Other than Clive Atthowe (who should wear a mask and swag bag after he told me his dyno hire prices) does anyone know of rolling roads in Norfolk that they would recommend?

Thanks

I would only recommend Gary and APT full stop. Part of that is first hand experience but it's backed by his reputation so it's not just because we are good friends.

Aside from his set up, I can't recommend anyone else mate. There is a dyno in Kings Lynn and another one in Watton but whether these set ups are any good and what their staff are like is anyone's guess. Maybe a phone call to each to suss things out and check with Jaydee to see that he's happy with the type of equipment they use........for example, the firm in Watton used to get a bit sketchy with cars that had over 500hp but this is from my experience back in 2007, so things may well have changed.

Any reason it has to be a weekend?
