Nice progress Pete. I have a stronger lust for Americana than ever after Friday, so I may see you on the 7th for another dose!

Nice update Pete, front's looking v sorted and the brake ducts will help no end. What a shame i can't make the 7th as I'd love to see the car, and it being blatted round. But AP are threatening 2nd week of august for my new brakes so I'd miss it anyway, but on past experience I'll wait till i'm in posession until I book anything. Sure you'll have a great day.

I would probably need to part with 2K for that bonnet which wont be anytime soon , yes i thought black for the vents also . Good luck with the mapping and i will keep a lookout for a firebreathing red rex .john B wrote:Good progress Pete looking good..I personally like the idea of the vents get them painted black though.....although that carbon bonnet looked awesome.
Depending on how the mapping day goes on the 7th I might well pop over and see if I can get out on track myself..
Time seems to pass slower when your waiting for something but hopefully the brakes arrive on time . Sometimes when i order parts from Summit Racing in the states the site says that what i want is in stock , that is till i pay for it then suddenly they are out of stock for 3 weeks or somethingMonster wrote:Nice update Pete, front's looking v sorted and the brake ducts will help no end. Yep happens to me as well, and they send whatever packed in the biggest box possible that incurs even more shipping cost once in the uk!pjs65 wrote:Time seems to pass slower when your waiting for something but hopefully the brakes arrive on time . I managed to finish the front spoiler and brake ducts in time for the evening session on the 7th and it worked well and was worth the effort .
The spoiler is made of aluminium which made welding it together a bit of a long job , i can do it but iam no expert . Making up the ducts to go from oval to round and then welding them to the spoiler took a while but its done and looked ok when cleaned up . Here is a picture of it before getting a coat of black.

As with paint spraying there is always a fly that decides to commit suicide on your spanky new paint job and spoil it , so i haven't got a picture of that .
I used 75mm diameter tube for the duct and it proved to be a bit of a pain to route it so that it didn't hit or get in the way of the wheel or suspension . From the picture it looks easier to go along the bottom of the chassis rail but the anti roll bar would have been in the way , so thats why its sort of up and over the chassis rail . i think the picture actually makes the underside of the car look a bit grotty .
