Mustang Update

Next job was to sand everything down again and etch prime the car

Once that was done and dried I then covered the car with white primer

I then needed to sort out underneath the car so I masked up the whole car in case of over-spray

Next came the spraying of etch primer followed by white primer again

Once this had dried I covered the whole underneath with a protective anti stone chip paint

The next job will be the crucial one which is to spray and lacquer the car interior with blue to match the original paint

Your attention to detail and care in the preperation is superb Fil, hats off to you. I do not have the time or the patience for that and it shows in my results (ie my work is crap)

This is a proper example of how to do things correctly and should be made a sticky for anyone looking to take on a project and complete it to a professional standard :notworthy:

Cheers Stuart, it won't be perfect but it will be as good as I can get it with the knowledge I have. As you said before any imperfections make it personal

Quality work, as Stuart says, you have patience that defines qulaity.

Please do me a favour, in the following pic, your engine hoist "stay" legs arent fully back. I have left mine like that before, only to find it has rolled into something. Please make sure it is fully secure and cant roll into your stunning work.

Sorry if thats teaching you to suck eggs. I would rather say it now than hear of an issue.

Thanks Steve, it is locked in place by the small bolt between the two tabs that touch the floor, the legs are held upright by the pins with split pins................................

I will double check just in case

Simply stunning Phil, I know when you have posted pictures up before and they really dont do it any justice when you see it in the flesh.
I truly believe this car will be in a class and league of its own when its completed 8) 8) 8)

I started spraying the blue yesterday and the paint reacted in certain places - probably 30% has lifted so it will need sanding down and I will have to go through the whole process again

I am going to see someone today who will be able to tell me what I had done wrong as it is baffling me

You work quick mate. You painting skills seem too notch. I hate painting and spraying as i cant do it. Last time i got pissed off ans just sprayed over all the dead flys.

Keep it up mate.

Is it only me or does this thread take ages to load up? All the others are fine?
