Blimey - that's a lot of melted wires !

As frayz says though at least you know what the issue is and should be reasonably straightforward to fix now. Do you think this is linked to the misfire?

Not sure......
it might explain why top end it was loosing power if the bracket had been broken and the joint was opening up.....

mike-payne wrote:Well we got her up on jacks today to sort the wiring issue and replace the headers to up pip gasket.
But once up in the air we were able to assess what had happened.
The slip joint bracket on the left hand side pipe hand been sheered off (under expansion i guess). the headers have blown apart the slip joint, resulting in the right hand side of the headers being pushed into the wiring loom and melting around 200-300mm of loom....!

Can't get the headers off as the top bolt is just too tight. so will have another go tomorrow as i have located a C spanner.
then the headers will be off and sent down to Haward & Scott for them to weld up a new bracket for the slip joint.
With the headers out of the way, we can then start cutting and splicing the numerous cables involved.....

Never rains, but it pours!
Is it off yet, H&S open at 8.00

Electrics done i believe :-D
But can't test them properly as the headers won't go back on..... :x

Had to get them repaired, where they had broken the slip joint, but they had also cracked near the up pipe flange.....
But i think where they had blown appart under heat on track, they have distorted.....
