I've spent the last few days doing plenty of homework on mods for the car, and have found a couple of cracking British built, real world budget cars to use as templates. Having exchanged loads of ideas between the respective owners, I have sussed out the following bits
- It is relatively simple to get the car to 1050kgs whilst retaining glass, air-con and all steel panels
- It is very simple to get the power and torque up to 210hp and 230lb ft
- No need to baffle the sump until you're running R888's or better, as long you keep it 5mm overfilled
210hp @ 1050kgs= 200bhp per tonne  :D :smash:
I am keen to keep the stripped interior discrete, so the rear of the car will be limo tinted (should be a laugh). I'll be ordering several bits that are already proven in Mike B's mighty mk2; RMD black composite seats and a nice dished RMD wheel too. I seem to be winning a decat too, which is nice :D

The car is going in for a new wheel bearing tomorrow so with the mods, bits and a Cupra, hopefully running better than ever........it's all good :)

Let me know when you plan on doing the windows, I'll be doing mine before too long. I've used film before, although for different purposes and not for some time.

Thank fuck for that :D
Yes, 100% will let you know...I've just looked at the instructions (in horror) and realised that it may be a bit, er, awkward :) Happy to have help/advice/guidance etc, or alternatively I can make tea and you can fit them
Outbid on the decat so that's twice I've lost out on one of them. Oh well.......always another time I guess.

Can't you get an exhaust fabricator to knock one up?
The place near me did them for

The decat pipe I was looking at was basically a downpipe/decat so the bore was bigger than OE. The only exhaust fabricator that I know of charges a load more than that, I am sure. Worth a phone call I suppose. It wasn't my first priority but this was bloody cheap at my bid, just ended up losing out. No drama's......plenty of other things to do.

Go to the tint my ride bit.
Don't know how many you want doing, but this might be worth a punt?

I was thinking the same thing last night; sub it out and get it done properly :) One of my old business partners has a few lads that do this and I reckon I can get a 'competitive' price. I've managed to save a few quid on the wheel bearing thanks to the fantastic service and value of AVS car parts in Swaffham and Leigh Wix @ Wayland garage. The quote for the wheel bearing started off at

Let me know how you get on, as mine will still need doing mate.
Glad it's quietened down for you, will make it much easier to live with.

I seem to go around and around though....do I want easier to live with?
It is quiet and refined (ish) and yet I lust after induction and exhaust noise, a chatter from the wastegate (if it had an external one) and a little banter with the dump valve now and then. Within minutes of watching Youtube clips I can't help pricing up everything I need to make my car unrefined and unpleasant........again! Surely it's cheaper just to have a shit wheel bearing? :)

VAG four pots do intrinsically sound a bit weak anyway, so it will require something doing..........
