Runs hotter than expected again IMO. :)
Could be Gerry but it does feel hot to the touch all over with no difference top to bottom.

I tell you what it is that is making it run hotter - the undertray. Since that went on the oil temps went up about 8C as opposed to free flowing air around the sump.

I will see what it is like on track and make any necessary changes between oulton and cadwell next week.

Then again it could be these crappy SPA gauges I have that throw out some weird made up figures sometimes. (long story but I feel another sensor is about to go... grrr)

Had that with the Defi oil temp. Toodling along and suddenly the reading goes off scale and the infernal alarm can't be cancelled :x

Maybe when you change your oil, feel how the heat flows through the cooler. After a run it'll all be hot regardless.
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!

Yeah - just done the oil change.

I read the info on that thread on 22b and that didnt say not to mount this way. Not bothered at the mo anyway, far more important that I drive the crap out of it and qualify for the final. I am going to tape over the gauges as they only make me back off :D

The aftermath:

Closer investigation of the damage from the accident have revealed how lucky I was. The silver scuffs that you see on the paintwork arent my paint, they are the paint from the barriers on top of mine so will clay bar out leaving remarkably few actual dents and scratches.

The front wing does need replacing but I was gobsmacked to find out that they are

No - I have decided to give Brands a miss from a competing point of view.
