Going to be virtually everything new under the bonnet soon. Fingers crossed once they've sorted the turbo you'll be able to enjoy plenty of trouble free off roading.

Cheers guys, still slightly hesitant to sell it after the work has been done. On one hand, when these bits are done it should be totally fine and continue to be okay. On the other, something else major can go tits up and will break my wallet big time. Which I really can't afford to have right now.
I have to say that trying to be impartial with the situation is hard, I am starting to lean towards selling it on. The warrenty period is pretty much up now and he won't extend it eventhough it's spent 7 weeks there from purchase. And with two major things like this packing up, maybe it's an omen to act on. Even before the turbo went today, I was constantly watching the temp gauge and the bonnet. Couldn't relax for a minute, then that happened...Ben wrote:I'd walk away from that one totally dude.

Are you going to have faith in what these guys do anyway even if they do fix it ?
Tricky one though mate, it should be running better and should give a decent amount of mileage back however I would expect there is some form of warranty on the work from the garage ?

Well there is that mate, but because I've modified the truck within the warrenty period (e.g. snorkel) he could just turn around and say no to any work required, that's his little get out of jail free card. I do have faith in the mechanics. They did sort out the radiator, head and gasket. But as dad pointed out, the turbo was whistling since I bought it and now that there are no pressure leaks in the system, the turbo must've been the remaining weakest link.
It does run really nicely, it has a more advanced engine than dads and is really really quick. Plus it's only just covered 100,000km but Pajeros are apparently known for turbo wear, so maybe this was the time for it to happen. Who knows. The warrenty imo from the dealer in question, is a pretty vague one.
As said on Facebook though, this is on a three strike rule now. If the truck wants to rob me of my money, then it can just fuck off.

I don't know you well mate, but you've always seemed dead keen to Jap stuff blatting around on track. Unless you're going to keep the Pajero and going to get a track car, why not out this problem laden lump, get some money back before it bites you in the arse anymore, and buy something that you can play with!! (Some cars seem like trouble, and if you have the option of walking away with your money, I'd tell them to poke it!)

I do love low loud fast and jap. The pajero won't be the last car I own. Now that it's finally been fixed I can have some trouble free motoring for a while to come yet. russ979 wrote:Lets face it Dan, Your faith in this truck has gone.
