Managed to clear the engine bay completely now, looks like there will be plenty of room for whatever I will need to get in there

Took the rear end off, chained it up and started spraying, hope to have it finished by the end of the weekend

I also now have a ratchet shift C4 gearbox that I need to get rid of, it's good for about 650bhp and has a transbrake - it's only done about 500 miles, let me know if anyone is interested

Things are coming along well Phil. Do you have any specs for the engine finalised yet?

It will be a 400 cubic inch with an F2 procharger, Bennett race engines in Alabama will kindly build it for me. It's an eight week build time but I won't be ordering it until later on in the year

I finished sanding down the engine bay and inner wings and now have no fingerprints left!!! Put etch primer on the bare metal and the first coat of primer on everything once that had dried. I have spoken to a local paint mixing company who are going to mix up the paint for the top coat, I will try and finish off any abnormalities before the weekend, more primer and try to get a coat of paint on it then. :-D

And I thought my 'paint booth' was good :) Good idea..........are you actually going to paint this yourself?

Yes, I thought I would have a go myself as I have never spray painted before - and with spray cans!!

I am taking down the spray booth today and will post some pics, still needs to be polished up but you will get the idea. I am trying to do as much as I can myself now as I want to be able to say that I built it - also if something goes wrong I will have a better idea of what it could be and have the confidence to fix it myself

...........and besides that I'm skint... :-D

I am pleased with the way it has turned out, not perfect but with some rubbing compound I think it will pass
