Doesn't look that bad - no where near as bad as one of my wheel studs

- As G says have you tried a fresh one?

Anit got any new ones I am about to order some. I put a good old one in (just to stop it suffering the elements as the car is outside) this was corroded and after about a turn it felt tight so I left it until I got some advice. It might be a case I get a new plug and slowly ease it in and out, I just didnt want to do something wrong and make it worse!

Got this sorted today, I am not sure if it was cross threaded now just the old plug might have seized and chewed its thread up on the way out. All the other old plugs where corroded to hell. Today I put fresh plugs in and the hole this plug came out of was very tight, I have just slowly eased the new plug in and out (using some anti seize as well) over the space of an hour and it seems fine. Once I have put everything back together I will take it for a spin. Thanks for your input guys!

Took the car for a run to snett today, after sorting out a poor connection on my coolant level sensor all was good. Car drove abit smoother with the new plugs as well. Got my car noise tested while I was there, 95 dB result! I didn't expect it to be that low.

Sounds like a good trip out mate

I bet that was bloody cold and wet! I did think of Chris and Andy, sliding around in the awful weather...........just as I was tucking into my second plate of roast dinner

Haha sounds like you had the right idea mate! It was face numbingly cold out there that combined with the moisture made it a challenging event.

Well feels like a while since I have posted an update so here goes....

When I got the car under sealed, Stu found that the wheel studs had been stretched. Also the previous owner had cut the studs to put spacers on! I have known for some time I needed to get this sorted, when I saw 4 good wheel hubs come up for sale I thought I would bite the bullet.... This turned into one of those jobs which snowballed... So long story short I have done the following....

Replaced all four hubs
Replaced all the disks with drilled and grooved disks (replacements are used but only had 50 miles on them)
Replaced the rear drive shafts
Replaced a wishbone
My Mrs painted my calipers red!
Re bled the brakes with new fluid

Few other bits as well for good measure....

New air filter
Carbon fibre headlight covers
4 Wheel alignment - which has transformed the car

Err I think thats it, hopefully soon I will be replacing my alloys as well.

Now for some pic whoring....

I just need to spend some time getting the headlight covers lined up but I will do that after marham.

Love that last photo

If you're flogging the alloys do try and polish the lip before hand as that will help resale or at least boost the value that you'll get (in my opinion anyway

)

Cheers Stu, yeah I had planned to as they look a bit shite at the moment. I really cant be arsed with split rims if I am honest. I was gonna go at them with some autosol, that the right stuff to be using on rims?
