When you do the cambelt mate, I would change the waterpump and fit a cooler running thermostat as well. If yours has the plunger type tensioner KEEP IT! Dont be swayed into fitting the later type like i nearly did. Yes the plunger type might seize in position, but they dont fail like the later ones can. This came straight from Tim.;)
Have a look at what this guys done on page one........

Yes they are two pots but the car is a long way from track ready yet so I'm not worried about that at the moment. Nothing much is going to happen to this until the Cupra has gone.

Thanks for the collective input

Think of the weight saving only 2 pistons instead of four must be grams in them

Small road trip in the Cupra this morning, off to get the wheels and tyres from Mike Shearing (what a gentleman he is :) ) A delightful drive there and back with the sun shining and stereo blaring........

The wheels were scuffed and kerbed as expected but overall just what I wanted. The first three were a doddle to swap and it gave me a chance to look under the car too. Generally very good nick with a few areas of jacking abuse being the only grumble. The last wheel to change also presented the issue of the sticking brake. A quick phone call to Russ and I soon had the caliper off. The brake pads were down to around 4mm each!! Wire wool on the piston, copper grease and a spreader soon sorted things out. Bearing in mind the originals are around three times that thickness, so I slapped the supplied Ferodo's in and went for a quick bumble :sifone:
Holy shit!! What a soundtrack :)

The baffle in the NUR is a great compromise. Typically loud but less 'nick me' from the outside but oh so pleasant on the inside  It probably annihilates power but it'll do nicely for daily duties.

Thanks to my Brother Rob for the wheels, Mike Shearing for being a gent and Russ for his never ending advice and patience.

Need to swap that hood scoop; it must be like driving Phil's Mustang!! I will be on the lookout for a standard one in the next few days.

Thanks for the compliments  Nice to see that I'm not the only one who has taken the shine to it.

Looking much better with those wheels on.

Shame I skipped the last of my scooby bits last year as I had a standard bonnet scoop. I might know someone who's got one though.
