engine was a real bitch to get out and had to get handy with mr grinder, no access to engine mount as it was squashed up against engine
so i had to peel it

and out she comes

i'v had to do real work wednesday and thursday off to santapod tomorrow for the weekend and got a full week of real work booked in for next week
i'l spend some time next week after hours cleaning up the engine

Lucky boy Trev
I've had two days in London on more training, and although I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute, I would have liked to have spent a couple of days on Grace or the Volvo instead. Maybe that way, one of them would be working?
That 'other' mk1 you emailed me was absolutely incredible by the way. Surely that must be inspiration for you?

sunday was a waste of time neither me or jamie could get our heads around working on cars so we went out for a drive to find some degreaser for the engine as the stuff i bought was crap and even that was a waste of time, so back to the unit several ciggies later jamie left, i thought i better do something and decided to take of the inlet manifold (bad idea) all going to plan then my hex head socket snapped in the hexbolt in the most awkward place , the whole afternoon was spent taking out the crappy bolt welding things to it etc.. but got there in the end , hoorah
after work today picked up some foaming engine cleaner and set about giving the dirty engine/box a clean up as it was minging and jamie would not let me fit it as it was.
its starting to look slightly better , gearbox is at least silver now anyway and not black
