Grace. SOLD
I think that either I'm getting craftier with the photos or your eyes are getting worse Gareth. This one is nothing special at all, hence the rat black bonnet. As this car will be used on the road, I cannot take some of the liberties that I have with various track cars, so essentially it will appear tidier than some. To counter that, if I were to have a tenner to spend on making it better to drive or better to look at, I think you know where I'd spend the money
As Mr Bingham suggests, I went for a little blat yesterday and it really is a great, fun car to drive. Never feels that quick, but you can still have a giggle at very modest speeds.
Don't take the post count as anything to do with the quality of the 'project'. This project amounts to nothing more than my normal ones; a bit of dicking around with colour choice, the inevitable rattle cans/rollers, and laboured descriptions of failing to accept that I have neither the money nor motivation to properly sort it into a genuinely decent version of its marque
Not that I give two shits! I will still post just about anything that happens and enjoy doing so at the same time

Arse!!
How to turn a simple wheel swap into a proper omnibus edition of a fuck up. The highlights, and like the aforementioned Hollyoaks Omnibus, you may need someone doing sign language in the corner in a minute. The language may get colourful.
Rob S has been trying like a UN negotiator to get me some of his super cheap R888's for the rather lovely refurbed Comp's. No joy I'm afraid, so a last ditch effort on one of the forums yesterday bagged some T1-R's with 17 miles on the clock for a good price, the only hitch being an 8pm collection from Cambridge.
I rang Leigh (Scoobyandscrappy on here) and he was kind enough to arrange for same day fitting and balancing for sensible money( Thanks Leigh
) I picked them after work tonight and doodled home, feeling kind of smug at how resourceful I had been. Pottering down my drive I wondered whether the bolts on the car would suit the Comps........flat versus tapered face etc
Most of my tools are still at the unit, so after emptying the Volvo for a jack and 17mm socket with a bar, I gave up and drove 11 miles round trip to the unit, got the tools and made my way back. Got the car in the air and took the front offside wheel off. Grabbed the Comp, lined it up and looked at the bore size versus the hub size...........
fuck!! Too big so I needed a spigot. Oh well, at least I'll sling a wheel on and see what it looks like.......
wrong fucking bolts too!! I needed flat faced ones and not the tapered versions I had.
At this stage, ready to throw the towel in, I rang/texted both SteveVR6 and Trev for sage counselling before I torched the car. Some wise words from these VAG Jedi's meant that Grace is still alive and my wheels still don't fit
......once more, I'd like to say "Fuck"
A mock up of what it will look like once I have removed the plastic arches, hammered and cut the steel arch and then replaced the plastic (Simple eh?
)

Oh yeah...........I also bought a flocked dash. I won't be fitting it to mine so if anyone wants a cheap but slightly Myxomatosis looking dash, let me know
Needless to say, unless I can source 16 bolts, 4 spigots and hammer and cut the arches out, I will not be driving at the autotest
