It was more than a little and less than too much. I bought from Newera who aren't the cheapest of importers but the quality of the car does speak volumes for what they find. Just be prepared for a long wait when the car gets put on a ship and then 4-6 weeks when the car comes into the UK. I'd buy from them again despite it taking a long time.

Sorry Stu, I didn't mean arch liners, I meant the arch guards.....on the pre-facelift cars the engine bay looks unfinished where the wings bolt to the body:

the facelift has arch guards that finish the engine bay off much nicer:

A needless expense......probably but it helps keep it clean.

Yesterday I tackled the radio.....hard to believe I'd only had the car 2 1/2 days and I'd had the door cards off to fit some speakers and the car looking like this...
Image
Why is it facia adapter fit is just crap........there is no excuse for this !!
Image
So I abandoned the facia idea and just bolted it in which looks ok, just need the standard cubby hole underneath that I tried today to order from Honda but they couldn't find the part number :(

At least we have a radio and can listen to music now rather than having an iPod dock on the dash sliding all over the place :)

Few minor things sorted today thanks to Honda. I will say the chap I saw today was one of the most helpful in any main dealer I have been to. Mazda should take note as they are terrible :(

New interior covers....
old with holes presumably for some stereo stuff
Image
new....
Image
old windscreen wiper arm......yep rusting !
Image
new ones freshen it up.....
Image
Radio fitted but missing the pocket underneath as per the above, Honda don't do this part anymore in the Type R style...just the stock black one which will be fine but means I have to look at the monstrous gap for the time being :(

Silly parts really but just making it nice.

In car Audio specialists will stock the pocket that you require Gareth; you may even find that Halfords' larger stores keep it in stock.

Nice updates :)

Stu, I bought two facias And neither fitted properly and also meant I couldn't bolt the radio to the cage.
It's ok though as the Honda one is on order ;)

Radio works great now but it is an eyesore looking at the hole. Roll on Saturday when I can pickup the pocket and then Sunday when I can fit it ;)

Today was a day of mixed emotions.......great and fkin terrible :(

Today was Mugen day - fitting the air box I had bought and also sorting the steering wheel being on the wonk.
Anyway the battery has to come out for this so 1st steps.....battery out.....then stock air box out....
Image
The bottom of the Mugen air box needs to be wrapped in insulation tape......starting with...
Image
finished product.....
Image
lower box fitted and filter in....
Image
and finished with battery back together (plus wheel done)....
Image

Great I thought.....fire up.......alarm off......key in......turn on.....lights are on......then start.....DEAD !!!

Yep, the car won't crank over at all :( I think its an electrical issue, I have checked all the small fuses and none are broken. I have checked the battery and it's charged. Alarm, windows, radio all work......it just doesn't crank at all.

So I now have a dead car in the drive and a missus giving me agro about a 'non project car' :(

Any thoughts ?

Love the car! I'd guess bad neg or not connected everything back up. Has it got an after market alarm?

Box looks lovely chap, but yep not good on the electrical front - does sound like an earth .. when my GTR had an earthing issue it would all light up but not turn.
