Lord Hayward has done a few of these including remaps, exhausts etc etc. Pretty sure that he saw high 300's (380 maybe?) out of a guy called Jon's e46 engined e36 but that may have been with an aftermarket ECU.

I forgot you had one, ill be picking your brains when I have any problems then :cheers2: if that's ok?

What's the best cure for the subframe? Poly bushes?

Also is it true the valve clearances need doing at around 60k?
Mine had recently had a Inspection 2 when i brought it which i believe had the tappets done on. In my short ownership i only had one issue, a lower ball joint but put that down normal wear and tear/ the rally stage roads i live on!

Dad's just sold his 330 vert i think he might have kept the wind deflector for when the roof is down, best extra mine had.

Wasnt trying to worry you about the subfame but if its fine now its worth catching and reinforcing it Stu's info gives you as much ifo as you need.

Know my way round them now as done a few jobs on dads.

Enjoy...........

I look after a couple of e46 m3's, the tappets should be checked on every isp2, although I have only ever had to change/adjust one car before. I believe the SMG's are most prone to rear subframe cracks but its definitely worth getting it checked out.

Missing a fair old chunk though Rob, although you could make one up I suppose. If you were tempted in just that, save yourself a few quid and just buy a K&N.

My gut feeling is that if you're being totally objective, this mod does not warrant the money Rob. Just done some refresher work on the whole subject (it's been years and I didn't want to give you duff advice) and it seems that the only 'really' satisfactory solution to give you power, noise and response whilst losing no reliability is the one piece carbon kits with integrated trumpets like the Evolve kit or one that CA Automotive sell, and they are still the thick end of
