[quote="stuartstaples"]Welcome to the site Mike.

Great first post (don't you love copy and paste ]

I slaved for hours doing this :P ;).

Comments noted and duly ammended ;).

Now could you please send me Jamie's details :) ?

Thanks all for the kind comments, I actually popped along to see what you were all about at the meeting at Snetterton this week and thought that it need some Ford blood injecting into it to show all you Jap boys that old Fords just get faster ;).

Car is still (just) on target for being completed in time, with a minor set back relating to the longer than standard rods being 0.5mm longer than I really wanted. This gives a stupidly high (for the boost and fuel I will be running - 32psi / standard super unleaded) 8.0:1 compression ratio. I need to somehow loose 10cc per chamber to get it as close to my desired target c/r. Hopefully the machine shop can come good, otherwise it's new rods and pistons, which given the 5 week deadline would be a hard target to meet (although CP can do me the pistons in 10 days, Auto-Verdi can't do the rods any quicker than 5 weeks :eek: ).

The head is all built up with the solid lifters (9000rpm rev limit), Cosworth DFV valve springs and 3-angled valves / seats, so I don't want to touch that :cry:.

It's supposed to be on the engine dyno next week - fingers crossed now!

In the meantime, I had a new exhaust made, as the Mongoose 3" system will present a restiction at this power level. Also, I had problems with noise limits at some of the circuits and so decided to have one built that was both quiet (FOUR silencers) and less restrictive. Hayward and Scott came to the rescue and it has a 4" down-pipe, splitting into two 2.5" systems, which is equivalent to a 3.5" bore, but (just) clears the ARB:

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right :D
