Why dont you just replace the headgasket and skim the head a tad?

Even cheaper still! Then you have a new cambelt to abuse too..

Unsure as to why it went so with 118k miles thought of either a full rebuild or the recon engine which has covered 10k since a complete overhaul albeit back to standard spec.....

:-D Picked this up on sat... :o was rather tired in the end tho... :o up @ just gone 4am drive to southampton for 7:30 then a ferry over to the isle of wight... was on the return ferry buy 10:45 tho... :lol: home just after 2pm..

Yesterday the engine was stripped down and it seems its just head gasket failure. still looking at a few options as diont want to spend a fortune on it, so might have to skim the head and try that, altho if it looks like the price might hit

its too dark now... ;) but will take some ASAP... up on stands at the moment as undecided on which route :? im gonna take.. been offered another engine that done 69k with 3 months warranty and delivered to my door... :?: choices choices..... :lol:

Right the choice is done, The engine with 69k complete with turbo is being delivered 2moro.... :lol: best get the old one out ready... :twisted:

Top man Steve......
Nice cars, although i always found them a little light on the front.
They also have issues with the mechanical diffs, but i'm sure there are uprated ones available.

Look forward to toying with this on the track :twisted:
