Disc conversion will be sorted once the motor is run in. Also need to rebush the front end and replace and grease rod ends etc for the ladder bars/wishbones.
Trying to break it down into individual jobs rather than a complete rebuild.
Oh and I have to change the ring and pinion gear for a street able ratio and replace the spool for a locker or similar.

Well i'm officially on the road and the motor is getting broke in nicely, have done a few more mods and car feels better and stronger as the days pass. Paint is done, pic doesn't do the satin black justice.

On the road it must look quite intimidating with the matt black paint job . What do you think of the AFR meter , mines all over the place as the carb was the one i used on the 307 . It needs the jets changing and hopefully if it stops raining at the weekend give the car another run up the A11 and get some better readings .And i think i have the same washer bottle as you . Pete

AFR seems pretty stable. Ive been changing quite a bit on the carb, its an edelbrock performer 750cfm, ideally i'd like to go to a predator for a bit more tunability. Only problem i'm having is in the transition circuit trying to get it to come onto first stage of metering sooner apart from that running 14 at idle, 13 at cruise, 12.5 at power stage, 14 secondary stage (got some bigger jets to fit and hopefully pull this back to 12.5)

I have a 625 Carter which is essentially an earlier Edelbrock . It also has problems off idle so when using light throttle it stutters real bad due to a weak mixture . I found by putting small diameter wire into the air corrector hole richens up the mixture so eliminating the stutter . I like the Carter but it does lack the tuning options that you get with the better Holley's . The afr readings aren't stable till the motor passes 2K due to the cam overlap but i get high 13s low 14s at cruise , i haven't booted it properly yet (wus) so i don't have a full throttle reading . I only managed 20 miles at the weekend due to a loose baffle in one of the silencer boxes , made a right racket so i will have to cut it open and weld it up .
I see your silencers hanging out back , have got a fuel cell in the boot as the original tank hangs off the boot floor and takes up quite a bit of space . Pete

Yep custom alloy tank in boot with the sump sticking through the floor where the holley fuel pump is. It's all pretty tight underneath, and i have zero boot space but its functionsl and does the job
