Just back from Snetterton where I was fortunate enough to see Mike christen the car :) I'll leave Mike to go through the in's and out's of it, but I was really pleased for him and his mighty mk2 surprised more than a few people scalping several cars including an R33 GTR :D

The weather was mixed, to put it mildly, with torrential rain, showers and driving wind. A typical summer's evening at Snetterton :) I won't do a report on here but I will upload some photos of Mike's Golf.

This car is as clean and well prepared on the underside as it is on the top!

Bearing in mind Mike has rebuilt this car top to bottom and used this event as a shakedown, the test went very, very well indeed. It still needs alignment and geometry done, suspension dampers tuned and tyre pressures checked!!

Well done Mike. I was proud of you and the car mate! It sounded like a refugee from Eschdorf with the carbs and exhaust note howling away. Deeply impressive

I like the wide arch bit but it 'needs' the sill extensions to join the arches up in my opinion (as per the white one). Mike has enough trouble getting the car squeezed onto his trailer as it is though, let alone adding another 4" width!!

i personally think the berg cup arches belong on a mk1 all day long, but the mk2 on the rare occasion look ok.

I will sit down tonight and write a full report on the snett trackday (sorry russ)

Onwards and upwards Mike :)
Your Golf is a tremendous opportunity for someone to buy a fast, reliable and beautifully presented Mk2 for sensible money.

I will spread the word
