Not much to report today apart from a couple of hours spend cleaning the inside and shampooing the upholstery, which was fairly grim :( Talking of grim, took a little time gently rubbing back the rust on the bonnet, and found some crusty bits and some 'ickle holes. As much as more cooling is useful for a turbo car, I'm not sure it looked too good, so rubbed it back and added some splodge. Cunning use of a fan heater and thin layers meant I was able to rub it back and lay some paint on. It's not finished but looks better and I'm now optomistic about keeping the bonnet as opposed to skipping it. I'm fairly new/shit at body repairs but it can't look any worse!

Bonnet repairs

Post by Rob S »

As will soon become apparent, we Staples seem to be missing the gene responsible for decent body repairs being possible, so before there's too much piss taking, this is an ongoing process which is getting there (albeit slowly....)

Stuart inherited a slightly scabby front end (Not the first time eh mate:biggrinjester:) and did his best to repair it by sticking the wrong colour on it and just to be double sure painted 1/4 of the bonnet and wacked a sticker on it just in case.
Like so......

The rust had started coming through again, so I ever that to pay out for another second hand bonnet or repair this one. With 2nd hand bonnets going for over
